It is impossible for us to count all historic stories, intelligence, determination, courage, sacriices of both the Vietnamese military and the people in all batle ields from all fronts and of those from the two allied neighboring countries of Laos and of Cambodia, who made their great contributions to the ighting at Dien Bien Phu, as it would then produce a so enormous treasury. On the irst days of 1954, with complete trust from President Ho Chi Minh and the Party Central Commitee, General Vo Nguyen Giap - the Supreme Commander of the Vietnam People’s Army, took charge of the whole army. It was also a historic mission that the whole people gave to him.
